Fix: No Sound On YouTube In Firefox With SoundFixer

Fix: No sound on YouTube in Firefox with SoundFixer

Have you ever encountered annoying sound problems on YouTube videos, such as audio in one channel only, too quiet or too loud? If you are using Firefox as your browser, there is a simple solution for you: SoundFixer.

SoundFixer is a web extension that lets you adjust the sound level and balance of any HTML5 video or audio source, including YouTube. It adds a small icon to the toolbar that opens a popup with two sliders: one for volume and one for balance. You can drag the sliders to fix the sound issues and enjoy your videos.

SoundFixer is developed by Val Packett, who describes it as "a quick and dirty hack" that he made for his own use. He decided to share it with the public after receiving positive feedback from his friends. The extension is free and open source, licensed under the Unlicense.

To install SoundFixer, follow these steps:

  • Go to the [SoundFixer page] on the Firefox Add-ons website.

  • Click on the "Add to Firefox" button and confirm the installation.

  • Restart Firefox if prompted.

  • You should see a SoundFixer icon on the toolbar. If not, you can customize the toolbar and drag it from the overflow menu.

To use SoundFixer, follow these steps:

  • Open a YouTube video or any other HTML5 video or audio source in Firefox.

  • Click on the SoundFixer icon on the toolbar to open the popup.

  • Drag the volume slider to adjust the sound level. You can also use the mouse wheel to change the volume.

  • Drag the balance slider to adjust the sound balance. You can also use the left and right arrow keys to change the balance.

  • Close the popup when you are done. The settings will be saved for the current tab.

Note that SoundFixer does not work on all websites because of cross-domain issues. However, it does work on YouTube and most other popular video platforms. If you encounter any problems or have any suggestions, you can contact the developer through his [support site].

SoundFixer is a simple but effective tool that can help you fix annoying sound problems on YouTube videos in Firefox. Try it out and see if it makes a difference for you.
